Meet The Bold Lady Who Decided To Marry Herself After Hitting 40

40 year old Yasmin Eleby recently decided to, in the proverbial sense, take the bull by the horn by getting married to herself in a lovely candlelight ceremony which happened at the Huston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC), on Saturday, Janauary 3, 2015.

Present at the unusual ceremony were family and friends of the bride/groom who were there to give support to Yasmin as she exchanged vows with no one else but herself.

Eleby, who is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., had promised herself that if she failed to secure a husband by the time she turns 40, she would do the unthinkable by marrying herself and when the time came, she upheld her promise.

Her 3 sisters and some of her friends served as her bridesmaids, and her mother gave her away to herself at the ceremony.
