A Chinese man reportedly jumped to his death after becoming frustrated by his girlfriend’s shopping spree.
Tao Hsiao, 38, is said to have jumped from the seventh floor of a shopping centre in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, in east China, after apparently getting into an argument with his partner.
‘He told her she already had enough shoes, more shoes that she could wear in a lifetime and it was pointless buying any more,’ said an eyewitness.
‘She started shouting at him accusing him of being a skinflint and of spoiling Christmas, it was a really heated argument.’
The 38-year-old reportedly then threw down the bags he was carrying and jumped over the barrier in the shopping mall.
He is said to have died instantly when he hit the ground in front of shocked shoppers.
