The Nigerian military has purportedly set out on an operation in Sambisa Forest to flush out Boko Haram individuals who have made the area their den.
An anonymous source advised Punch that the military chose to initiate the operation as a measure to help make the Northeast safe for the up and coming decisions.
The Nigerian Air Force purportedly began assaulting the woodland on Monday, while concurrent reconnaissance exercises and strikes by the military were continuous.
"The military has begun the operation in the Sambisa Forest; the operation began on Monday.
For the time being there is no particular instances of capture, we don't have that data now. The Air Force has been working in the zone since Monday. It is after that that the ground troops who are on red caution would move in.
Likewise, a source near to a security office key to the operations of the Federal Government said on Wednesday that a considerable measure of exercises were going on at the same time in the Sambisa range and different parts of the North East," the source said.
The distribution further reports that "… it was assembled that the military powers are brushing the Sambisa Forest due to discernment reports that a percentage of the extremists who were ousted from a portion of the groups were withdrawing into the woodland."
